DRAFTING

I still remember the experience that happen to me last year. This happen when I was visiting my mom’s village in Marang, Terengganu. My family and I visited the village during the school holiday. Basically, I was so happy because we rarely visited our grandparents. We just go there during celebration and school holidays. Other than that we just video call our grandparents because mom and dad is so busy with their job.

We arrive at the village at 2 p.m. I can see my grandmother or we called Tok Wan’s  happiness face. She grab my hand and she hug me very tight. “Such a long time I don’t see you Shida” she told me. Tok Wan ask us to go inside the house and get a rest. After have a good rest and packing our thing I walk into living room. I see my grandfather or I call Tok Ki was chat with someone. I don’t know how to describe it. Maybe a white boy?

See me standing like a stone, Tok Ki ask me to joining them. Tok Ki introduce him to me. The boy’s name is Danny and he came from Australia. Danny and his family are on vacation here. Tok Ki ask me for taking Danny around  the village. It’s so awkward for me. Thank goodness I manage in English. Surprisingly Danny can also speaks in Malay, even though it’s not pretty good, but I can understand it well. I do not know that Danny can be so hilarious. He share about many things and asked me a lot of question to. We exchange opinions and ideas, with him, I learn many things.

After taking Danny around the village we walk back to Tok Ki’s home. Danny’s family also there having a conversation with my family. “Thanks for bring my son with you, he really excited to learn about Malaysia’s culture” Danny’s mom said. Until now, Danny and I still keep our bonding. For this year, Danny told me that he will come again. Can’t wait to see him again.
